When it comes to paid survey panels, the market is a little overcrowded. Online surveys have become a part of marketing research, where companies pay to understand the relation of customers with their product.
People who look at internet as a source of income, can easily get money, offers and special deals by taking surveys on these panels. VIP Voice is one such panel that offers rewards like sweepstake entry in return for your time and effort in taking surveys there.
My review of VIP Voice website focuses on understanding the website, its features, what I like and don’t as well as if it is legit.
Let’s dive straight in.
What is VIP Voice?
VipVoice.com is a survey panel where a member can earn VIP points for each survey they finish. They can use these points to get various rewards like sweepstakes, prizes and gift vouchers. The surveys are pretty easy to finish and cost nothing to join.
VIP Voice is operated by the NPD group and was formerly known as the NPD Online Surveys (NPDOS). Founded in 1967, NPD group is one of the largest global provider of research data and advisory services to Fortune 500 companies.
As a member of VIP Voice, you can voice your opinions about the products you buy and like and make a direct influence on manufacturer’s decision making.
The website conducts more than 12 million surveys each year and claims to have worked with over 1700 product companies. The products range from apparels and consumer electronics to food.
How does it work? How to use your points?
Similar to other survey sites, you can become a member of VIPVoice by signing up using your email id and just answering to a couple of simple questions about yourself. Once you confirm your account through their email verification process, you can start taking surveys and earning points.
They utilize the tiered membership with 5 different levels. You need to finish a fixed number of surveys to move up to next level. The higher up on the levels you are, the more the number of points earned for taking a survey. The number of points you earn depend on 1) your current level and 2) whether you are qualified to take the survey or not.
VIP Participation Points
If you are not qualified to take a survey, you will earn VIP Participation Points to complete a survey. For instance, Level 1 members will earn 50 points for attempting a Level 5 survey, whereas Level 5 member will earn 550 points for the same.
VIP Qualification Points
VIP Qualifications Points are earned when you successfully complete a survey. For instance, Level 1 members can earn points ranging from 25 for completing a survey, while Level 5 member can earn 200 points for the same.
These reward points are used by the website for compensation. You need to accumulate points by taking surveys, and later redeem the points on their exclusive rewarding website SweepLand.com for a bunch of different items.
Each VIP Voice point enables you to enter in either sweepstakes or bid in an auction. You can decide the number of points to be used as per your will to enter the SweepLand sweepstakes. However, to bid in BidLand auctions, the number of points you use should be greater than the “Current High Bid”.
- SweepLandPros – You can try your luck at the SweepLand.com, which is a sweepstakes program exclusively for the members for a range of prizes. Each point you use in the sweepstakes is considered an entry, so higher the number of points you enter the better your chance of winning. Winners are decided randomly. Prizes have high value, including HDTV, laptop and big apple experience.
- BidLand– You can bid for prizes on BidLand.com, which is another member-only website that allows you to bid in an auction using your points on a variety of items. The highest bidder wins the prize using up points from their account. If you lose, your points are returned to your account. You can even win an exciting holiday at the auction. The auction program also features level-exclusive auctions to improve your chance of winning.
Quick Assessment
Good–
Diverse surveys– They include a good mix of various industries ranging from accessories and automotive to electronics and health. The questionnaire is intriguing yet simple. |
No minimum account threshold– Once you have points, you can use them as an entry in the sweepstake or bid in an auction. |
You get points for disqualifications– Even if you do disqualify for a survey, you can get points for it. Take a look at the diagram earlier in this article to how many you will get. |
BidLand auction – I,personally liked the auction, because once you have determined the true value of a prize and estimate it to be available here at much lower points, you can win many items for peanuts. |
Product trials paying out in cash– If you are really lucky (which is a rare occasion here), you can get invited to product trials and online focus group compensating well in cash. |
Expiration – Points do not expire as long as you have an active membership. |
Bad–
No cash or point value in dollar value– If you like to get their rewards in cash or understand how much you have earned in dollar value, then this might not work for you. I did not like the reward system where VIPPoints do not translate to whatever dollar value. However, if you are in for auctions and enjoy buying online, you may like it. |
Highly addictive– You will find yourself spending a lot of time on the BidLand especially if you like going to auctions. |
Sweepstake points deducted even you lost the prize– Personally, I do not like to gamble my hard earned points at a sweepstake, knowing that once it closes, all the points submitted into that entry will be subtracted from your account. A popular complaint I noticed, was that many people said that they never really won anything even after spending hours in trying their luck out at the sweepstakes. |
Eligibility– Only USA and Canada residents are accepted here with age criteria of 13+ for US residents and 18+ for Canadian residents to enter BidLand and SweepLand. |
Limited weekly surveys – If you looking to take a huge bunch of surveys here, this might not be the right place for you as they only send out a 1-2 survey invitations per week. |
Conclusion
VIPVoice is a completely trustworthy and legit website, as it backed by the internationally renowned company NPD.
However, if you are aiming to make a money or win prizes here, the chances are slim. I would recommend to look the other way, if you are trying to cash out your earning. Instead of taking home the cash or gift card, you have to redeem your points by participating in auctions and sweepstakes.
VIP Voice is not on my Top 10 list of survey sites to be considered as a source of income.
